About the Artist
Jeffrey Hull’s artistic career started during his high school years in the late 1960’s, when he started selling his paintings and ceramics. He has painted and sold well over 2,500 original watercolor and oils, sculpted hundreds of kinetic and stationary sculptures as well as hand built and thrown ceramic vessels. In 1980 Jeff reconnected with his passion for painting watercolor and never looked back.
He was born (1952) and raised in Portland, Oregon and has been an artist and resident of Cannon Beach, Oregon since 1972 earning his living solely from his art since 1987 when he and his wife Carol opened the Jeffrey Hull Gallery. Known for his ability to capture the beauty and moods of the places where water joins land, Jeffrey controls the difficult medium of watercolor, often in very large paintings. After many years of painting watercolor exclusively Jeff added oils to his repertoire in 2006. He is rarely found far from the ocean’s edge, the source of his inspiration and his deep love for all things coastal is clearly seen in his original paintings and prints.
