Artist Statement
Perhaps it’s because I was born so close to the water’s edge, flanked between the Pacific Ocean and the Necanicum River, that I intuitively depict water and horizons in so many of my paintings. I continue to live on the riverbanks so water remains an important element of my life and art. I am a Plein Air painter as well as a studio artist and enjoy working with vibrant colors, palette knife and large brushes to depict direction and energy found in my painting creations.
