As summer settles into fall, we welcome one of our favorite evenings of the year: the autumnal equinox. On Tuesday, September 22nd, the seasons will officially turn, and here on the Oregon Coast, this quiet transition holds a special kind of magic. Locals and longtime visitors alike have come to know this time as the Magic Season.

It is when our charming little cottage town begins to exhale. The beach opens up, offering more room to wander and reflect. Afternoon hikes through the coastal trails feel like a private retreat. Time itself seems to soften, inviting you to simply be still.

To honor this beautiful shift, we invite our in-house guests to join us on the evening of September 22nd for a hosted community bonfire on the beach, a cherished Cannon Beach tradition. Gather around the fire as the sky fades to gold behind Haystack Rock, and savor a s’mores kit crafted in partnership with our friends at Ranger Chocolate Co. It is a small, unforgettable way to welcome the season together.
