Cannon Beach is set to hold the 62nd annual Sandcastle Contest on June 20th, 2026.

The sandcastle contest originated in 1964 as a community gathering event following a tsunami that collapsed the Fir Street bridge at the northern end of Cannon Beach.

For decades, the community has continued this tradition and grown it into one of the most historic sandcastle events in the country. The contest welcomes all artists, ranging from the tiniest of competitors to professional teams.
